OUR EYFS

At Little Badgers we provide a warm and caring stimulated educational environment where children are encouraged to learn through play and their individual needs and interests are at the forefront of all that we do.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Planning throughout the setting is based on Government guidelines detailed in the EYFS document and covers children aged from birth to five years.

The EYFS is divided in to four themes:

A Unique Child Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Positive Relationships Children learn to be stronger and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.

Enable Environment The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.

Learning and Development Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected.

Within in the learning and development it consists of 7 areas, which are separated into two parts:

Prime areas: Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Communication and Language.

Specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

All of the areas are important and are interlinked, through the planning and activities.
